I paint places that evoke a slower, quieter, and more enduring way of life. As a child, during a family vacation out west, I first discovered a Ghost Town. I was fascinated by a place that was frozen in time and had a story to tell.

For years, my subject preference has been historic and cultural places that bear the imprint of human experience and the passage of time- yet free of visible figures. By removing people, the work becomes timeless. and allows for myself and the viewer to imagine the human stories that have unfolded and to form a personal connection to the place.

Like many of us, I am increasingly aware of the fleeting nature of trends and consumer culture. My paintings are, in part, a response to that observation. They are expressions of what feels authentic and lasting to me.

Many of my paintings feature portals—doors, windows, pathways, and gateways—that invite viewers to step into another world, suggesting possibility, reflection, and curiosity. My visual language celebrates contrast: the dance of light and shadow, organic lines paired with geometry, and warm colors beside cool.

My experimentation with surface texture began with my love for collage. I  currently build layers of paper and fiber textures beneath the painted subject. My hope is that these textured surfaces create a tactile presence that carries more than an image and invite closer observation.

Ultimately, I paint the feeling of standing in a place and sensing the history it holds. I am fascinated by the lives that may have passed through it and by the connections I imagine between past and present. Through painting, I seek to preserve those moments of wonder and appreciation—and to keep them alive in memory.
